What We’re Searching For

The IT Department at JP Pest Services is growing, and we’re looking to expand our roster by adding an Information Technology (IT) Assistant to the team. This position is full-time. With the company’s continued growth, we expect this position to grow into a full time roll.    

The Team

As part of the IT Department, you will always be learning, evolving and finding new ways to make the JP Pest Services technology more efficient, enjoyable and user friendly. No two days are the same working on the IT team. Some days may be more low-key resetting user credentials or troubleshooting printer issues, and the next day you could be educating new or existing employees on the technology that we use in our day to day operations. Flexibility is desired in this position. 

Blueprint of a Top IT Assistant

  • CompTIA A+ Certification   

  • Knowledge of basic computer hardware. 

  • Knowledge of mobile devices to include iOS and Windows[MH1] CT [MH2] devices preferred

  • Experience with desktop operating systems including Windows 7 through Windows 

  • Working knowledge of diagnostic utilities. 

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills. 

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on listening and questioning skills. 

  • Strong documentation skills.



  • Field incoming help requests from end users via both telephone and email in a courteous manner. 

  • Build rapport and elicit problem details from help desk customers. 

  • Prioritize and schedule problems. Escalate problems (when required) to the appropriately experienced technician. Record, track and document the help desk request, problem solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken through to the final resolution. 

  • Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting. 

  • Access software updates, drives, knowledge bases, and frequently asked question resources on the internet to aid in problem resolution. 

  • Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization. 

  • Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level including installing and upgrading software, configuring systems and applications

  • Test fixes to ensure problem has been resolved. Perform post resolution follow up to help requests.
